| Items in the DWEL collection have already gone through a couple levels of internal reviews. However the last, and perhaps most important, measure of items in the collection is its worth to the user community. April 1, 2003 marks the initiation of the DWEL community review process. Educators from the K-12 and informal education settings can view the exemplary resources that DWEL has identified from each of the campaigns that it has completed. Furthermore, our community review process provides the user with the opportunity to provide additional critical analysis of the resources we have identified. A VALUABLE INCENTIVE PROGRAM We recognize that educators work long and hard, and that their time is very valuable. While the process to review a resource is not particularly difficult, it does involve some time commitment. On the average, it probably takes about 20-30 minutes to complete the review process for a single site. While DWEL does not have the funds to pay everyone for every review they perform, we have instituted a valuable incentive program. Twice a month DWEL will draw the names of five people who have contributed reviews of items in our collections. Each of the lucky winners will receive a check for $100 as a token of our thanks. In order to be entered into the drawing a person needs to conduct to reviews within the time window for each lottery (the first through 15th, and the 16th through the end of each month). Successfully completing two reviews in this time period earns the reviewer a single "lottery ticket". For each additional review done during this time period, an additional ticket is earned (no limit on the maximum number of reviews in any single time period). So obviously, the more reviews conducted, the greater chance you have to win. The winners will be contacted via email and their names posted below on this page. No person can win more than once in any single two-week period. Furthermore, being a winner in any lottery does not preclude a person from being fully eligible to win in any and all subsequent drawings. However, in order to be included in the drawing for any two-week period a person must conduct two or more reviews within that two-week period. At the end of each drawing, the lottery process starts over again. SO GET INVOLVED! SUBMIT A REVIEW! |
