The Center for Science, Mathematics and Technology Education at Colorado State University is looking for 25 teachers who will be attending the NSTA Regional Conference in Reno (Dec 4-6) to take part in a training workshop. The Digital Library for Earth Systems Education (DLESE) is the premier access point for earth science information on the Web for teachers, students and the general public. The purpose of this workshop is to acquaint the workshop teachers with all aspects of using the DLESE web site (http://www.dlese.org) so that they would be able to serve as ambassadors to the program at their state and local education meetings.

Teachers selected to participate in this workshop will receive one night of lodging in Reno. Logistical and financial support will be available so that the newly trained ambassadors would be able to make presentations at two local or statewide venues over the next year. A $200 honorarium will be made after successfully making the two presentations.

The purpose of the DLESE Ambassador program is not only to spread the word about Digital Library for Earth Systems Education. It is also designed to help interested teachers grow into leadership roles at the local, state, regional and national level by providing opportunities and support for doing professional development presentations.
