CLTWest Doctoral Degree Program

  • Multidisciplinary cohorts of students and faculty from the sciences, mathematics and education coming together with a shared focus on improving science and mathematics education.

  • Core curriculum offered on-line by Center faculty from five western universities (Colorado State University, Montana State University, Portland State University, University of Montana, and University of Northern Colorado), allowing students to begin coursework off campus.

  • Research and field internships integrated into all aspects of the program. Center participants have ample opportunities for collaborative teaching and research in urban and rural schools partnering with the center.

  • Internships in Evaluation, Public Policy and other areas allow students to work with local and national agencies and professional organizations.

  • Center research teams bring together faculty and students from all five campuses, and teacher leaders from the partner schools, in collaborative investigations and publications. Team members will work together on-line and at workshops and forums.

  • Generous financial support is available for 70 doctoral/postdoctoral Center Fellows.
